According to reports from The Metro this afternoon, Premier League duo Arsenal and Manchester United are both targeting FC Genk prodigy Sergej-Milinkovic Savic.

The central midfielder only joined the Belgian outfit last summer from boyhood club Vojvodina on a five year contract. But the 20 year-old’s impressive form since, bagging five goals in 24 league appearances during his debut campaign, has allegedly caught admirers in both England and Italy.

That’s according to The Metro, who cite Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb. They claim Arsenal and Manchester United have both made enquriies into Savic’s availability, whilst Lazio have gone one step further in launching a £4.3million bid – which has since been rejected.

Savic’s progression on the international scene is likely a significant factor in Arsenal, United and Lazio’s interest too.

He’s racked up 27 youth level caps for Serbia, ranging from the U19 to U21 age groups, and won the World Cup with the U20 squad in Auckland, New Zealand last month. The prodigious midfielder’s impressive performances saw him take the tournament’s Bronze Ball award.
