Carlos Bacca

According to reports from Sky Sports this afternoon, Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca would welcome a move to the Premier League this summer.

The Colombian international has been in excellent form since moving to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in 2013, firing Sevilla to consecutive Europa League titles with 49 goals in 106 appearances across all competitions – including 14 goals in Europe.

That’s generated plenty of Premier League interest in the 28 year-old front-man. As This Is Futbol revealed in May, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been linked as potential suitors – with all three clubs expected to make changes to their strike forces this summer.

And according to Sky Sports’ La Liga correspondent Guillem Balague – who broke news of Diego Costa’s move to Chelsea several months prior to him joining the Premier League champions last summer – Bacca would be more than interested a move to the English top flight.

“Carlos Bacca at the end of the season told Sevilla he would like a way out,” said Balague on Sky Sports News earlier today.

“Sevilla would like him to stay, but he does know there is interest from the Premier League and Italy. He likes the idea of coming to the Premier League, of course he has been abroad for a few years and would be happy to continue that progression abroad.

“Although Sevilla expect an offer, it hasn’t arrived yet,” he added.

Los Rojiblancos are clearly preparing themselves for an offer, however. As This Is Futbol revealed this morning, Sporting Director Monchi – a former goalkeeper for the La Liga outfit – has insisted any suitor will have to match the striker’s £21.5million release clause.

“If someone wants Bacca, they have to pay his clause. He’s told us that it’s his desire to stay with the club and I don’t see any other possibility,” said Monchi.

“Bacca’s contract includes obligations for the club and the player, but if a club wants to pay his clause, there’s nothing we can do about that,” he added.

yeah Bacca is also top class. In fact I would prefer him to the likes of Cavani and Kane.
