Former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie believes that the Hoops will have no chance but to sell Josip Juranovic although he may sign a new contract to help increase their asking price.
His claims could amid reports linking the right back with a move away from Glasgow.
Football Insider have said that the Croatia international is open to the prospect of joining an ‘elite’ club and that the Bhoys are prepared to let the 27-year-old depart should their demands be met.
Juranovic is currently in Qatar to represent his country in the World Cup but the Scottish champions are reportedly bracing themselves for offers when he returns to Parkhead.
He said: “I think there is not much we can do about it in Scotland.
“It is not just Celtic. I think every club is a selling club now. It does not make any difference what contract he is on. If someone comes in and the right money is offered, he will be gone.
“If they are offering him a new contract now he should take it. Then Celtic are going to get more money out of it. It is a win-win for the player. If he has got respect for Celtic, and I think he does, then he will sign the contract.
“It might never materialise, a move might not happen. He is such a good player and somebody will come in for him somewhere down the line.
“He is getting a bit of security if he signs the contract and if he has a good World Cup then he will be gone.“

Would you sell Juranovic for £15m?
Juranvoic is currently under contract until 2026 meaning that the Celts are in a strong negotiating position regardless of whether he signs a revised deal.
Considering the 5 ft 8 defender arrived for £2.5m last summer the Hoops could be set for a tidy profit.
The Scotsman previously claimed that the Lennoxtown outfit were looking for £15m to take the £16k-per-week star off their hands but a strong showing in the desert could only enhance his value however it remains to be seen whether or not he will leave the club this winter.
