Presenter Dan Cook has claimed that Aaron Wan-Bissaka will consider Crystal Palace high up on the list of clubs he could join.

It seems as though the Manchester United defender could well be out the door this winter – having supposedly been free to leave this summer – and rumours have already emerged linking him with a January exit.

Palace are club named as a potential suitor with Journalist Pete O’Rourke telling to Football FanCast that the Eagles will probably be ‘looking to rekindle that interest’.

While discussing the possibility of a transfer on the HLTCO podcast, host Cook said that Wan-Bissaka would probably be pretty keen on a move to the London outfit.

He explained (02:39): “I think it’s fair to say that Aaron Wan-Bissaka and his representatives probably will be looking at different venues for him to go back into a club and get first-team football guaranteed.

“And obviously, if Crystal Palace do throw our hat into the ring for him, I think we would be relatively high on the list of suitors from Aaron’s perspective.

“Because he will know exactly what the environment is. He’ll know a number of the people that are involved both in the playing staff and behind the scenes.”

Of course, Wan-Bissaka, who has been hailed as ‘explosive’, played for Crystal Palace before his move to the Red Devils – leaving for a reported £45m plus £5m in add-ons – and so he knows his former club well, just as Cook points out.

Indeed, came through the Eagles academy and went on to play 46 times for them at the senior level. His story is not that dissimilar to Wilfried Zaha who also left London for Manchester only to return to his former club in hope of kickstarting his career.

It remains to be seen as to who else may want to sign the right-back this winter, but it’s hard to think of a team better suited for Wan-Bissaka than Palace. It certainly looks like one deal to keep an eye out for.
