Leeds United will focus on bringing in another striker when the market reopens in January.

That’s according to transfer insider Dean Jones who has been speaking to This is Futbol and discussing Leeds’ recruitment plans.

Jesse Marsch’s side suffered a third straight defeat in the Premier League as they slipped to 16th in the table.

Despite only being outside of the relegation zone on goal difference the Whites rank 13th in terms of goals scored (11) but they have missed 15 big chances, the sixth most in the division.

It appears that the club are now hoping to rectify their woes in front of goal as Jones said:
“That’s what they are working on. They need a striker who can eat up some of these chances. It’s not a new problem I mean, Leeds have had issues like this for a long time in terms of finding a striker that is reliable. Bamford’s pretty much the only one they found for a long time, but they have to get it right again.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…

Is Bamford good enough for Leeds?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Gabriel Agbonlahor has recently expressed his concerns for Leeds going forward citing the need for investment at centre-forward.

The west Yorkshire club have failed to score in three of their last four matches with Rodrigo, who grabbed four goals in the first three Premier League fixtures, struggling for form following a shoulder injury.

Patrick Bamford meanwhile, is working his way back to full fitness and looks a far cry from the man who netted 17 goals a couple of seasons ago.

With the Elland Road outfit seemingly in the midst of another relegation-threatened campaign Jones’ update will come as a reprieve for supporters.
