Footage from the most recent Leeds United game shows that VAR may have made a big mistake for not punishing a poor tackle on Tyler Adams.

In their Premier League fixture over the weekend, the Whites travelled to London where they took on Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

After a bright start, Leeds took the lead thanks to a goal from Pascal Struijk following good work from Brenden Aaronson. However, goals from Odsonne Edouard and Eberechi Eze turned around the game as the Eagles claimed all three points in their 2-1 win.

Things could have turned out very differently though had Cheick Doucoure been punished by VAR for a bad tackle that saw his studs crunch down on the back of Adams’ ankle.

TIF thoughts on Leeds and the foul…

Considering Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal was sent off for a similar sort of tackle in Spurs’ recent loss to Arsenal, it’s easy to see why some Leeds fans won’t be happy with this challenge as the consistency just isn’t there.

Doucoure certainly came in late and got nowhere near the ball, and it was the sort of tackle that really could have done some serious to Adams – luckily though he managed to complete the game without any apparent issues.

Seeing as the final score was so tight, this moment played a key factor in the defeat for Jesse Marsch’s men. Had Doucoure been sent off, there’s every chance the Whites would have picked up some points instead of leaving London empty-handed.
