Leeds United and United States attacking midfielder Brenden Aaronson was rated as the “best player on the pitch” in the first-half of the side’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

That is according to journalist Josh Bunting, who tweeted at half-time of the fixture, with the scores level at 1-1.

Aaronson played a huge part in putting Leeds 1-0 up in the fixture, after he initially dribbled past three players, before his effort on goal hit the post and Pascal Struijk was on hand to tuck the ball home after ten minutes.

The 21-year-old continued to cause Leeds problems throughout the game, with Sky Sports co-commentator Alan Smith describing his run as “absolutely sensational.”

And Bunting was on hand at half-time in the fixture to heap praise upon Aaronson’s showing.

Brenden Aaronson best player on the pitch by an absolute mile in that first half, control is immense, has given Leeds room to breathe driving forward,” Bunting tweeted.

“Carries the ball extremely well, Crystal Palace will be relieved that it’s 1-1 at half-time, Leeds have to be more clinical.”

TIF Thoughts on Bunting’s comments

We believe that Bunting’s opinion is spot on, with Aaronson being instrumental in the attacking success of Jesse Marsch’s side.

The United States international has already provided both a goal and an assist in his seven appearances for the Whites so far according to Transfermarkt, and you wouldn’t bet against him adding to that tally with the rest of the campaign ahead of him.

Therefore, we think Leeds fans will be delighted with the £25m signing’s performance at Selhurst Park, despite the result.
