Celtic right-back Josip Juranovic did not impress journalist Mark McDougall on Saturday afternoon with his display in their derby victory.

The Bhoys are now sitting pretty at the top of the Scottish Premiership after their convincing 4-0 victory against their city rivals at Parkhead.

And it was a fairly comfortable afternoon for Ange Potsecoglu’s side who saw their goalkeeper, Joe Hart, tested with just two shots on his goal across the 90 minutes (via SofaScore).

But despite the sound defending on display at Celtic Park, it was apparent McDougall was not overly convinced by the performance of their Croatian right-back.

The 27-year-old played the full 90 minutes in front of the Celtic faithful but was only able to earn a 6/10 rating from the footballscotland journalist who had the following to say:

“Had a difficult day at times up against Barisic and Kent. Helped Abada going forward but it was the one area Rangers got joy in an attacking sense.”

TIF Thoughts on McDougall’s comments…

It definitely was not the easiest of afternoons for Croatian who saw the opposition dribble past him on two occasions and only manage to register one successful tackle (via SofaScore).

Would you start Juranovic vs Real Madrid?

Yes

No

Even in attack, it was a mixed afternoon at Parkhead for Juranovic who was only able to deliver one successful cross out of the three he attempted and lost possession 11 times.

However, there is now a huge Champions League tie upcoming for the Bhoys against Real Madrid and going into that game on the back of such an emphatic result and a big clean sheet can only be a confidence boost for Postecoglou’s side.

    Complete and utter bilge!
Juranovic never put a foot wrong, just like every other Celtic man today!
