Journalist Alasdair Gold has predicted that Harry Winks will leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer and touted Spain as a possible destination.
With just a few weeks left in the transfer market, the English midfielder has yet to find himself a new club despite plenty of speculation throughout the summer linking him with an exit.
Indeed, Premier League rivals Everton have long been linked with a possible move for Winks, but no deal has materialised as of this moment in time.
Even so, while that move isn’t looking close, Gold has stated that he still thinks the midfielder will leave Tottenham before the window slams shut on September 1.
Indeed, when talking on his YouTube channel, he explained (1:02:24): “I’m pretty sure Harry Winks will leave the club by the end of this window because it serves nobody any good if he sticks around, himself or the club.
“So yeah, he’ll head off somewhere. I’ll be intrigued to see… obviously there’s the Spanish links, his grandmother’s Spanish, isn’t she? I think he speaks Spanish. I can’t 100% confirm that. But I’d imagine he’s got a decent knowledge of it.
“There’s always little Spanish links that crop up with Winks. So whether he ends up going to Spain, we’ll see. Funnily enough, I think Valencia have been linked with him in the past as well. They’ve looked at him seriously. So yeah, we’ll see.”

Just as Gold mentions, Winks does have a connection to Spain with both his grandparents coming from that country, while Valencia have certainly been named in Spanish media as a possible destination for the player.
On top of that, reliable transfer guru Fabrizio Romano recently stated on the Here We Go podcast. that fans ought to ‘keep an eye on Spanish clubs’ with regards to the 26-year-old.
And so, taking everything into account, it does seem rather likely that Winks will be leaving north London this summer and he just might end up moving overseas too.
