Newcastle United could still look to bring in Watford star man Emmanuel Dennis this summer to bolster their attacking options, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

While the Magpies look to add more depth and quality to their forward unit this summer they have been linked to a number of top targets this summer, including the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Andrea Belotti.

However, one player they could look to move for before the end of the window is Dennis, who according to Jacobs is liked by manager Eddie Howe and while they haven’t made a move yet, has told fans to keep an eye on the deal.

Jacobs told NUFC Matters, “Emmanuel Dennis is the other one to keep an eye on simply because he was excellent for Watford even though they went down. I know that Howe likes the player. I don’t think that Newcastle have made any kind of movement at this point. But it’s one to watch between now and when the window closes”. (15:35)

TIF Thoughts on Dennis to Newcastle…

Howe’s side needs a new striker to bring competition and some youth to their ageing front line of Callum Wilson and Chris Wood, and Dennis could be a great addition after his impressive debut Premier League season for Watford last year.

Despite failing to keep his side in the top flight, Dennis picked up 10 goals and six assists in the league while playing for one of the worse sides while ranking in the 95th percentile for aerial duels won, 89th for dribbles completed, and 81st for non-penalty goals compared to other attacking midfielders and wingers in the top five leagues.

It is believed Dennis, who has been called a ‘baller’, could be gotten for around the £20m mark, which would be a great price for a player of his age with his goal return in just his first debut season in the Premier League, and we certainly know Newcastle can afford it. We will have to wait and see what happens.
