Insider ExWHUemployee has said that Ben Brereton Diaz is an alternative option should West Ham United fail to sign Armando Broja.

The Hammers have heavily been linked with signing a new striker this summer, and the Chelsea forward has been reported as their number one target in the transfer market.

However, getting a deal across the line for the man who spent last season on loan at Southampton may not be easy with other Premier League clubs like Everton also holding a keen interest.

With that in mind, when talking on The West Ham Way Patreon, Ex has revealed that the Blackburn Rovers striker could be seen as another option.

He said: “Broja remains the number one target for the forward position and the club apparently are prepared to back Moyes’ judgment with substantial finances.

“Broja is said to be keen on the move and as Chelsea edge closer to signing forwards this could work in our favour. Ben Brereton-Diaz remains an alternative option.”

TIF thoughts on Ben Brereton Diaz and West Ham…

Clearly, Broja is still the man West Ham hope to land, and with the player said to be ‘keen’ on a switch too there may be no need to explore alternative options.

However, the club are clearly doing their due diligence and making sure they have a back up plan should the Chelsea man stay put or move elsewhere.

In Diaz they could have a pretty good option too. Indeed, the Chilean has shone on the international stage, while last season he also scored 22 league goals for Blackburn.

Taking it all into account, it looks as though the Hammers should soon be add some real goal threat to their team – be it Broja or Diaz.
