BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand has claimed that there has been nothing but positivity coming from the Manchester United training ground since to introduction of Erik ten Hag.
Erik ten Hag was appointed as Manchester United manager towards the back end of last season, after he has won five trophies in the last four years with Ajax, and helped them reach the latter stages of the Champions League.
United had a really poor campaign last season, they ended up finishing sixth in the Premier League, which meant that they have qualified for the Europa League next season, but they were 13 points away from qualifying for the Champions League.
With the introduction of Ten Hag, whilst speaking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents Five YouTube channel, Ferdinand said that everything that he has heard from the training ground has been positive with the right mix of enjoyable drills and intensity.
(9;06) “One thing I must say, the noises I’m hearing coming out of the training is everything that you want to hear, they are very positive, the training sessions have been really enjoyable, real intensity the workload is massive, they are demanding a certain type of energy and intensity from the players, so the fitness levels have to be driven up and he’s doing that,” Ferdinand said.

United was in drastic need of change this summer, but they have only managed to make one signing, Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord. However, Ferdinand has claimed that there has been the proper changes needed in terms of the structure of training to make sure the current players are fighting fit for the new season.
Although the claims of changes being made in training, it would be reassuring for the Manchester United fans if they did make some more high profile changes before the season starts, to ensure that they have a more successful season next term.
