Manchester United are feeling positive that Ajax’s Lisandro Martinez will choose Old Trafford over the other interested parties.
This is according to the insider Dean Jones who has been writing on the Ranks FC Patreon page about the latest transfer news involving the Red Devils.
It has been reported that United are heavily interested in bringing the Argentine centre-back to Old Trafford this summer with a potential reunion on the cards with his former manager, Erik ten Hag.
However, they face stern competition from Arsenal who are also believed to be hoping to bring the 24-year-old to the Premier League in the coming weeks.
With the Gunners believed to have submitted two bids for the Ajax defender, Jones still believes those around Old Trafford are confident they will win the race for his signature:
“The Martinez situation is positive as United believe he will pick them over Arsenal. The Erik Ten Hag factor is particularly key here and the boss wants him to help the squad understand his vision in terms of how the team will develop,” Jones wrote.
TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…
It does feel as if Ten Hag’s presence at Old Trafford would be a major boost in United’s hopes of landing Martinez this summer with the prospect of a move to a new country on the cards.

Given the Argentine would be making a big jump to the Premier League, having the familiarity of Ten Hag could be a big confidence boost that the transition could be made easier.
Reports do suggest the player is keen to leave the Dutch capital this summer, so we will be interested to see if United can steal another key component from the Amsterdammers.
