Presenter Joe Wainman believes that Leeds United youngster Crysencio Summerville could leave the club this summer.

The 20-year-old certainly seems to be an exciting talent, who has shone at youth level and been knocking regularly on the door of Jesse Marsch’s senior side.

However, he very nearly ended up leaving the Whites back in January, with German outfit Hamburg said to have had an interest in the winger, only for the deal to not materialise.

Looking ahead to this summer’s market, though, Wainman has predicted that more ‘suitors’ could come in for Summerville in the near future, and he would be content if the player was sold or even loaned with a permanent option included in the deal.

Speaking on the JustJoe Football Show, he said: “I believe, even at this point, the fact that Summerville had suitors back in January to loan him, you will be able to make an upgrade on that £1.35m you paid for him.

“So I think Summerville potentially may move on. He may get a loan with a view to a permanent deal, but I’d be okay with that.”

TIF thoughts on Crysencio Summerville and Leeds…

As Wainman says, Leeds paid about £1.3m to Feyenoord for the youngster back in 2020. The presenter clearly feels they could recoup that money back this summer – and he seems to think it would be a wise thing to do as well.

Will Crysencio Summerville make it at Leeds?

Last season, the 20-year-old played six times in the Premier League, but failed to set the world on fire, providing zero goals and assists. His average SofaScore match rating of just 6.64 per game also suggests he didn’t have a huge impact in the senior team last term.

Even so, still being pretty young and having impressed at youth level, some Leeds fans may be tempted to keep faith in the talent and wait for him to develop. Evidently, though, Wainman feels as though the club would be better off selling him.
