Celtic came away from Hampden Park with more than just a disappointing defeat on Sunday with Ange Postecoglou seemingly adding a new name on the injury list.

It was an afternoon to forget for the Bhoys as they tasted defeat against their bitter rivals in the Scottish Cup despite taking the lead at the national stadium.

Greg Taylor – of all people – provided the Hoops with the lead in the second half as he netted his first goal of the season, however, it quickly went south for the Bhoys after the goal.

And a potential injury to Josip Juranovic will be a big concern as the Croatian was withdrawn prematurely after he suffered what seemed to be a hamstring tweak.

Having come off during regulation time, reporter for the Daily Record, Graeme Young, noticed the right-back limping back to the bench after the Bhoys’ team talk in extra-time:

“He’s right in the huddle offering instructions and back claps. But the Croatia international walks back to the bench with a noticeable limp,” wrote Young.

TIF Thoughts on Young’s comments…

This will be a huge concern for Postecoglou and the Celtic faithful with Juranovic playing a huge role in the Bhoys’ season after arriving in the summer.

The 26-year-old has made 26 appearances in the Premiership alone this season where he has been able to net himself three goals and provided one assist (via Transfermarkt).

But with the title race not won just yet, we do wonder if this causes Postecoglou some concerns given the Hoops’ defence has been so solid with Juranovic playing a big role throughout the campaign.
