Jesse Marsch recorded his first win as Leeds United boss in dramatic fashion. A stoppage time winner saw his side secure a 2-1 win and put a bit more breathing space between them and the bottom three.

Patrick Bamford lasted the opening 45 minutes as he looks to return to full fitness following his injury problems. He was replaced at the interval by Jack Harrison, who impressed in the minutes of football he got.

Do you trust Marsch to keep Leeds up?

Graham Smyth delivered his match ratings and gave some promising words on Harrison, saying: “6 – Showed fight, evidently has been listening to his new head coach, but could have picked up a second yellow.”

His words are backed up by Harrison’s stats, he only won seven duels, but he did contest 15 in just one half of football, showing that fight and desire needed in a relegation fight.

Who was sent off in his first game as captain?

It wasn’t a game for the light hearted. Rodrigo got the hosts off to the dream start, scoring just 14 minutes into the tie. It then went quiet for the scorers until stoppage time where Kenny McLean levelled things up and looked to have rescued an improbable point for Dean Smith’s side.

Stoppage time substitute Joe Gelhardt was on hand to fire home in the dying seconds to help Leeds secure a desperately needed three points.
