A collection of Celtic fans have been left with a sense of pride after seeing an image of Kyogo Furuhashi’s interpreter on the podium after the recent League Cup win.

The Japanese international was the star as his side lifted a trophy for the first time under manager Ange Postecoglou. Indeed, the striker scored twice after the Bhoys fell behind to help the team claim a 2-1 victory over Hibernian.

Having only arrived in Scotland in the summer, Kyogo evidently needs some aid with adjusting to the English language and Scottish dialect, and so he has an interpreter.

The individual was then stood next to the forward celebrating the cup triumph on stage together with the rest of the team.

The image was shared on Twitter by football writer John McGinley and it soon had many Celtic supporters talking online.

Here’s what these Celtic fans said…

“Seen Calmac making sure all backroom staff up there before he lifted the trophy just shows how special our club is one big family and great team ethos.”

“There’s a unity about this bunch squad and backroom, hasn’t been seen in years.”
“He’s just as valuable to the team too. Brilliant.”
“Aw dinnae, I cannae cope. The wee angel that he is”
“He’s genuinely beautiful.”
“He’s absolutely buzzing too.”
“Love that.”
“Awww that’s absolutely class what a guy oor wee kyogo what a player better than Larsson.”

Interestingly enough, back in August, Celtic captain Callum McGregor praised Kyogo having the character to ‘hit the ground running’ in a new environment.

He also alluded to the importance of his interpreter back then, saying: “He’s got his interpreter with him as well, in case the language barrier becomes a problem at any time.

“But he’s been great. What I will say is that his English is improving very, very quickly as well, so he’s obviously working really hard on that too, which is another testament to him as a person.

“Football has its own language, where people who have a football brain, you can see it very quickly.”

It certainly has taken very little time for Kyogo to make a big impact in his new country – with this cup-winning performance a testament to that.
