A lot of Celtic fans have flocked to Facebook to share their thoughts on the latest claim to emerge on the future of loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The Parkhead side have the American centre-back on loan until the end of the campaign, but they have been urged to sign the 23-year-old permanently by Frank McAvennie.

Despite claims suggesting the Bhoys could have to pay Tottenham Hotspur a fee in the region of £10m for the defender, Football Insider had reported it is expected to be closer £3m.

Speaking to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker said: “If it’s only going to cost £3million I would get that done in January, pay the money. Then he’s ours and we don’t need to worry about it.”

And with the January transfer window just days away from opening, these fans flocked to Facebook to cast their approval on a potential deal for the defender.

What did these Celtic fans have to say?

Carter-Vickers has played a prominent role in Ange Postecoglou’s side this season, including in the League Cup final last weekend, which saw the centre-back help the Bhoys get their hands on the trophy.

Spurs tied the centre-back down to a year extension when he departed in the summer, however, with it looking like he is not in their plans, it seems these fans seem keen on a deal for the American.

Spurs should be holding out for a price nearer the £10m, what decent players go for less than that?
