A whole host of Newcastle United fans on Twitter have reacted negatively to a transfer claim involving Cole Palmer.

Newcastle will almost certainly need reinforcements if they are to leapfrog any of the teams above them as they have won just one game all season, but fans will take solace from the fact that Amanda Staveley has confirmed the club will be busy.

Will Newcastle be relegated?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

It also appears that the owners are actively looking to strike up deals as early as possible to give Eddie Howe as much chance of keeping the squad up as possible, but an attempted signing will not be joining on loan, with The Athletic’s Sam Lee claiming Pep Guardiola wants to keep Palmer at the club despite a bid from the Magpies.

A lot of Newcastle fans are gutted on Twitter with this latest transfer news.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

“I’m furious, Palmer is insane

@shaykeurass

“Makes no sense. If youre going to risk giving an unproven youngster a go at saving the season, Anderson is there.”

@RoBiN8t8

“Strange one this”

@glenn250

“Wow just wow”

@Bald47090646

“Where’s all the money? This is the kinda stunt Ashley would’ve pulled. If they bomb this window serious questions need answering”

@Wig82

“This scare me to the high heavens if true, you dont put fairh in 19 year olds to dig yourself out of a relegation battle your already losing, you recruit experienced campaigners.. that get you over the line and then you move on and upwards! this game aint that complicated”

@DykaRivers

“Shows desperation….”

@PengMediaHQ

It is no surprise to see Guardiola block a loan move for Palmer as he is starting to get minutes in the first team across all competitions having also already scored in the Champions League, and he could very well follow the same path as Phil Foden by learning from the first team and manager, instead of experiencing loan spells.
