A lot of Sheffield United fans have taken to Twitter to voice their frustrations with the latest ticket news to emerge from the club.

On Thursday, the Blades announced their away tickets for their trip to Barnsley had sold out, with a few tickets remaining available via the club’s ballot system.

The Championship club had been allocated 2,038 tickets for their short trip across Yorkshire to Oakwell Stadium on Sunday 24th October.

Although the tickets have been advertised as sold out by the club, the Blades have held onto a number of the tickets allocated to provide fans with fewer loyalty points the opportunity to attend the game.

Blades fans flocked to the club’s official announcement that tickets had sold out, with many fans left frustrated by the club’s methods of distributing the tickets for the trip to Oakwell.

What did these fans have to say?

“stupid amount of tickets and stupid amount of pts needed to get 1..”

“Managed to get sorted but they’ll be bare in home end. Very silly”
“See you in the home end!”
“Home end blades”
“What an absolute joke”
“only 2000 tickets what a joke”
“What a joke of a football club Barnsley really are that away end holds 4 thousand why not give us the full stand”

Slavisa Jokanovic’s side currently sit in 14th spot in the Championship table, with the Blades picking up league action again against Stoke City on 16 October.

Fans fumed after initial news of the low allocation was revealed, however, it seems that plenty are still disappointed as some supporters appear set to miss out on the local derby.

Given it is one of their shortest trips of the season, it is clear to see the frustrations among the loyal Blades fans who were unable to purchase a ticket through the club’s points system yet more tickets are being made available for other fans through the ballot.
