Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest piece of transfer news surrounding their club.

This comes after Leeds fan and journalist James Marshment shared a post on his Twitter page quote-tweeting a post from Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, which has shared an article claiming that Leeds have offered €18 million (£16.2 million) to FC Basel for centre-forward Arthur Cabral.

Starting with an easy one how many points did Leeds end the season with?

In his post, Marshment mentioned Cabral’s goalscoring numbers for last season and his overall goalscoring record.

This post from Marshment then gathered a lot of replies from Leeds fans, who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest transfer link.

Here’s a sample of Leeds fans responding to the post:

The 22-year-old, who is currently valued at £5.4 million, signed to Basel on a permanent basis from Brazilian side Palmeiras for a fee of £3.96 million back in July after spending the previous season on loan at Basel.

Overall, Cabral has made 39 appearances for Basel, where he has managed to score 18 goals and provide six assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

Would Arthur Cabral be a good signing for Leeds this summer?

Now that Marshment has shared this post on his Twitter page, this paved the way for lots of Leeds fans to share their thoughts on this potential move from Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

It appears that the majority of these Leeds fans would be quite happy to see Cabral make the move to Elland Road this summer.

However, with Cabral having signed to Basel on a permanent basis this summer, it may be difficult for Leeds to persuade Basel to sell a player they have just signed.

Although, Globo Esporte’s report suggests that the striker is ‘excited about the possibility‘ of playing in the Premier League, so perhaps the Whites do indeed stand a chance of luring the forward to Elland Road, and that is something that could work in Leeds’ favour if they were to enter advanced negotiations.
