A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Steve Wraith after he tweeted about the latest bid to buy Newcastle United fronted by Michael Chopra.

To get things started a rather easy one. Who scored Newcastle's first league goal of the season?

Reports emerged over the weekend that claimed that the Bellagraph Nova Group (BN Group) were in negotiations over a possible takeover.

They have submitted proof of funds and are willing to pay a £250,000 deposit to look at the ‘data room’.

This led to Wraith tweeting about the bid, claiming it is genuine and that if a compromise can’t be reached on Amanda Staveley’s approach to buy the Toon, it would be a good alternative.

He still believes that the Staveley’s bid can be saved, and his tweet drew the attention of these Toon fans, who are not convinced that it can be.

Do you think the Staveley deal is dead?

Yes, it is all over

No, it could still happen

No, it could still happen

The Premier League finally responded last Friday after Staveley’s group had withdrawn its bid to buy the Toon in late July.

It was claimed that the Premier League offered PIF the chance of arbitration to sort out the issue of who would actually be in control of the club.

PIF refused this and withdrew its offer, but the consortium claimed that it shouldn’t have been offered arbitration because that should only happen if the deal had been rejected as a route of appeal.

In the end, the Premier League made no decision, so it does seem odd they offered to resolve the situation with something that can only be done on appeal, according to the consortium.

So, that deal looks tricky at the moment.

This leaves Henry Mauriss in the running, who has been told to put his money where his mouth is or walk away, as well as this new BN Group bid.

Some Toon fans are happy with Chopra for sorting this out and are praising the former Newcastle striker.

However, this bid from the BN Group has already hit a stumbling block with a price yet to be agreed.

So, we will just have to see what happens with this bid, but failing to agree a price doesn’t seem to be a good start.
