Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest social media post from Phil Hay.
This comes after the Leeds journalist shared a post on his official Twitter page revealing that Jean-Kevin Augustin’s loan deal at the Yorkshire club has now ended.
Hay also added that his understanding is that Augustin’s deal will not be extended until the end of the current season.
In his tweet, Hay claimed that Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa ‘didn’t want to comment’ on the situation with the Frenchman’s contract and also said that ‘any announcement on whether Augustin will stay longer term will be made another time’.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Leeds fans who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest news from Hay.
Here’s a sample of Leeds fans responding to the post:
Augustin's loan is up today. My understanding is that it won't be extended. Bielsa didn't want to comment on him and said any announcement on whether Augustin will stay longer term will be made another time. #lufc

That is a shocking signing. If we’d of invested in another striker as competition for Bamford we’d probably be promoted now

The 23-year-old joined Leeds in the previous January transfer window from German club RB Leipzig on loan. Since then, Augustin, who is currently valued at £8.55 million according to Transfermarkt, has only played 48 minutes of action for the club across three Championship appearances coming off the bench (per Transfermarkt).
Biggest mistake

Has Augustin been a flop for Leeds?
Yes
No
Good riddance. Complete sicknote and an absolute waste of time. Couldn’t have been a more Leeds signing if we’d tried

Deal was doomed months ago, no need for him to even be in Leeds after tomorrow, another disaster of a loan signing.

Bielsa made a fatal mistake with Nkietah. Ridiculous.

Now that Hay has shared this latest news on Augustin and his future at the club, this sparked a big reaction on Twitter with many Leeds fans responding with their thoughts on the situation.
However, there was one Leeds fan responding to the post who was not as negative towards Augustin and the decision to bring him to Elland Road as others were.
Not sure why people are blaming Orta here. Not his fault Augustin got injured.

Looking at the replies to Hay’s post from this group of Leeds fans, it seems as though the majority of them have not been happy with Augustin’s move to the club. However, to be fair to the striker, he has been unlucky with injuries since his arrival.
