Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Phil Hay shares an article reporting that the club’s academy is set to be granted category one status by the Premier League.

In the article, Hay writes that Leeds’ ‘youth-development scheme will join the top tier of English academies for the first time after passing an audit under the Premier League’s Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP)’.

After he relayed the article on Twitter, fans of the club flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating their delight at the news, while others commented just how proud they were of the progression the club is making under Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds United are looking in extremely good shape at present.

In addition to the news that their academy is now amongst the best in the country, the Whites currently top the Championship table – three points clear of third-placed Brentford with a game in hand.
