Many Leeds United supporters have been responding to a recent tweet from Beren Cross with regards to Marcelo Bielsa’s future.
The Leeds Live writer provided an update following Bielsa’s press conference after his side came from behind to beat Derby County 3-1 at Pride Park. The Whites trailed thanks to Chris Martin’s goal but responded just two minutes later through Pablo Hernandez before Jamie Shackleton put the Yorkshire-based club ahead and Matt Clarke’s own goal sealed the points for the visitors (as per BBC Sport).
Cross explained that there were some technical issues during Bielsa’s press conference, held via Zoom, however, he did say that the 64-year-old was ‘non-commital’ regarding managing the club in the Premier League.
Here is how a sample of the Elland Road faithful have responded to the post.
He’s not gonna discuss it before he’s spoken to board is he. He is thorough in everything he does so he will want to know it’s all going to be done right. He’ll stay. Sorted within the next fortnight I’d guess.

I expect that he will remain, he loves the club, the people and their passion. #lufc #MOT #ALAW

It is clear from the above responses that these supporters don’t appear to be very concerned, they appear confident Bielsa will still be in the dugout come the start of the 2020/21 campaign. Others, however, were a little less calm following Cross’ update.
Nooooooooooooooo !!!!!!

There were some fans who believe the journalist posted the update in a bid to gain some attention on the social media platform and they were not afraid to make their feelings known.
Expected more from you Beren, thought you were better than that. Wanting attention you’re not phil.

Bielsa’s contract was due to expire at the end of June, however, due to the global pandemic the season was extended and so the Argentine remained in order to finish the campaign and has successfully guided the club back to the Premier League. It will be interesting to see whether he will remain with the Whites beyond this season.
