Many Leeds United supporters have been reacting to a recent Twitter post from @marshyleeds in which he shared a screenshot captured from Ben White’s Instagram account.
The 22-year-old defender took to social media to thank everybody associated with the Elland Road club for the support he has received during his time there. White’s loan spell with Marcelo Bielsa’s side finishes at the end of July and it remains to be seen for whom the player will be playing his football next season.
Here is how a sample of the Leeds fans responded to the post via Twitter.
That’s a goodbye. We move on. Sad but I just hope he knows the grass may not be greener where he ends up.

There’s nothing there you wouldn’t expect him to say. He’s not gonna say see you next season lads am gonna hand in a transfer request. Hope we see him back here next season but just like a few weeks ago, keeping him seems very unlikely

All loanees have to come out and say stuff like this at the end of a spell somewhere!! Fact is he’s a Brighton player and his contract at Leeds is up!! I honestly don’t think he’ll be at Brighton next season, I just hope that’s because he’s with us!!

Are you hopeful of a deal being reached that would see White stay at Leeds United?
Yes
No
White, who is valued at £4.95 million (as per Transfermarkt), played every single minute of the club’s Championship-winning campaign and according to WhoScored.com, his average performance rating in the competition was 7.09/10, making him Leeds’ fifth-most consistent performer during the 2019/20 campaign.
He’s not staying at Leeds. I’ve never really thought he would, to be honest.
We’re caught in the middle – he’s Brighton’s player but he’s surely destined for a Liverpool/Man City sized club.— Phil Harrison (@MrPMHarrison) July 28, 2020
We trust Bielsa with anyone he brings in. Over to you Orta

Harrison did the same last year. Means nothing

I just get the impression he knows in his heart that he’s played his final game for Leeds, but because he clearly loves the club he doesn’t want to admit it yet, as much to himself as everyone else.

It’s clear from the above responses that these fans are torn on whether his message is a sign he will not be rejoining the club or not. Leeds have already completed the permanent signings of Helder Costa and Illan Meslier ahead of their first Premier League campaign in 16 years and it appears some still hold some hope that they’ll be able to tie down White too.
