Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest social media post from Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth.

This comes after Smyth shared a post on his official Twitter page addressing a number of questions put to him from Leeds fans about Kiko Casilla’s future at Elland Road.

Nice easy one to start off with, from which club did Leeds sign Hernandez?

In reference to any potential chance that Casilla would play for Leeds again this season, Smyth said that it would be “very weird” to see Illan Meslier dropped from the team “at this stage” of the season.

Smyth also added that Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa “has been determined to avoid distractions” before ending his tweet saying that he just “can’t see” Casilla playing for the club again this season.

This post from Smyth then gathered a lot of replies from Leeds fans who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on the situation.

Here’s a sample of Leeds fans responding to the post from Smyth:

Back in February, Casilla was handed an eight-match ban and fined £60,000 for racially abusing Charlton Athletic’s Jonathan Leko back in September 2019 (per BBC Sport).

Leeds’ recent 1-0 win over Swansea City was the eighth match Casilla has now missed since his ban was issued.

Since the ban was issued to Casilla, Meslier has filled in and has only conceded four goals in Leeds’ previous eight Championship matches.

Would you want to see Kiko Casilla ever play for Leeds again?

No

It appears that these Leeds fans are quite sure that they don’t want to see Casilla, who is now valued at £1.8 million (as per Transfermarkt), play for the club again and would much rather see Meslier continue in the team as they aim to secure promotion to the Premier League.

This will undoubtedly be bad news for Casilla with the fans having decided that he should not be continuing at the club.

However, given how well Meslier has done for the team since stepping in for Casilla by keeping five out of a possible eight clean sheets, you would think that Bielsa would be willing to stick with the Frenchman until the end of the season.
