A group of Leeds United supporters have been discussing the news that the Championship season is set to resume on 20th June (as per BBC Sport). The EFL has stressed that the specified date is a ‘provisional’ one and is ‘subject to the strict proviso that all safety requirements and government guidance is met’.
The Whites last played a competitive fixture on 7th March when they defeated Huddersfield Town at Elland Road in the Yorkshire derby, with the competition suspended six days later. Phil Hay of The Athletic relayed the update via his Twitter account and lots of Leeds supporters have been reacting on the social media platform.

The one positive thing about the last 10 weeks is that I haven’t had to worry about #lufc results. That feeling is now back ?. Thanks a lot, Phil ?

Are you buzzing about the Championship's imminent return?
Yes
No
Some fans highlighted the fact that they are expecting the feelings of anxiety and nervousness to return when Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites resume their bid to secure promotion back to the Premier League for the first time since their relegation at the end of the 2003/04 season. Others were more confident of the team’s ability to get over the line.

The players have been back in training since 25th May and they are due to resume contact training this week (as per BBC Sport) as the clubs step up their preparations for what many hope is the league’s imminent return. EFL chairman Rick Parry also confirmed that talks were ongoing regarding the broadcast of the remaining 108 fixtures and the play-offs, which could be shown live on Sky Sports or via streaming services.
Although the circumstances aren’t ideal with fans not being allowed to attend stadiums, in our view, there is plenty to be excited about as the return of Championship football edges closer.
