Liverpool fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest transfer update surrounding RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
This comes after Liverpool-focused Twitter account @Liddellpool shared a post on their page relaying news originally posted in a tweet by football journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Romano’s tweet claimed that Liverpool have spoken with Leipzig over a transfer move for Werner this summer.
He also added that while official talks have not started, the Merseyside club is still Werner’s priority and that the striker has spoken with Jurgen Klopp ‘many times’.
Romano ended his tweet claiming that Werner would only consider other bids if Liverpool gave up on the deal.
This post from the Liverpool page then gathered a lot of replies from other Reds fans who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest development.

The 24-year-old, who is currently valued at £57.6 million according to Transfermarkt, has been in stunning form for Leipzig this year.

So far this season, Werner has managed to score 30 goals and provide 12 assists in 39 appearances for the German club, which may be a big reason why Klopp and the Merseyside club have been getting in touch with Leipzig over a possible summer move for Werner.

Now that it has been reported that Liverpool have been in contact with Leipzig in recent weeks and that Werner is open to moving to Anfield this summer, this sparked a big reaction on Twitter.

It appears that while some Liverpool fans are confident that Werner will join the Merseyside club this summer, there are some Reds fans that are getting quite tired of seeing numerous rumours and updates on the striker every day.
Looking at Werner’s fantastic goalscoring record so far this season in Germany, it’s understandable why some of these Reds fans would be excited to see the striker make the move to Anfield this summer.
