The Athletic’s Phil Hay has shared an article by his colleague David Ornstein, which reports club medics have told the Premier League they do not believe a return to football is safe. The journalist shared the piece via his Twitter account and a number of Leeds United supporters have flocked to the post in order to respond.
It is claimed that club doctors have written to the Premier League’s authorities and are seeking urgent answers in regards to the proposed return of football. The Premier League Doctors Group (PLDG) listed approximately 100 questions and issues and The Athletic claims to have seen the communication.
Here is how some of the Elland Road faithful have responded to reports of this latest development.

I’m confused, everything is getting back to normal, kids going back to school ect.. but footballers aren’t allowed to work for 90 minutes?

Why have Germany found 0 hurdles and just got on with it? Because theres a level of respect for their governing body. Clubs lack respect. Rest of country will be going back to work so why not footballers? Have to stop letting clubs dictate what happens IMO.

End the season now on PPG. 3 up and 3 down. Sack off the euros. Start the new season in January when it’s safe to do so. Season will then fall in line with World Cup dates

Is it right to continue the season given the current circumstances?
Yes
No
I (and millions of others) have been at work all the way through this, it’s not 100% safe, but very little is surely? Are they saying that no one should work unless it is guaranteed 100% safe to do so?

Is this the end of football then ? This virus ain’t going anywhere soon.
Also is anyone safe going to work ? Many frontline workers are not safe but they have to work !!!!— JT1919?? (@JohnmjtJt1919) May 5, 2020
What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that many of the club’s supporters have grown frustrated by the current situation. Although Leeds United currently play their football in the Championship, what happens in the Premier League could impact on their promotion hopes and we can assume that is why there is so much concern amongst the Whites fans.
