A lot of Leeds United fans have replied to a tweet from Phil Hay as he offered his thoughts on how the season might finish.
Replying to a tweet from @Michael_Green_. The Athletic reporter claimed that ‘there’s no model other than void which would stop Leeds finishing top two.’
This seems to have pleased some Leeds fans who couldn’t hide their excitement.
basically, there's no model other than void which would stop Leeds finishing top two. Or no credible model anyway.

Oh Phil ?

Announce promotion
— Adam Brown (@adambrown1992) May 8, 2020
My only remaining fear is that promotion is blocked by the Premier League. Reassure me Phil

However, Hay’s comment stating that there is no ‘credible’ model that could stop Leeds from finishing in the top two also got some more concerned Whites fans thinking about what the EFL might do.
But then you have the football league

Que the EFL now coming up with a model which puts is 15th and in the same league next year… ?????
— Tim Blain (@The_Swell_Shark) May 8, 2020
Theres probably a model out there that mean PPG doesnt count if you have had your goalkeeper suspended for racist abuse
— Nigel Chappell (@nigel_chappell) May 8, 2020
Seriously the EFL will show just how corrupt it is when it PPGs every league and then voids championship to stop Leeds getting out

What do we think?
A report in The Athletic claimed that both League One and Two are to finish their season, and a vote will be held to decide how to sort out promotion and relegation.
Are you pleased with this update from Hay?
Yes, it looks like we will be in the Premier League next season
No, EFL will find some way to keep us in the Championship
The Athletic’s report claims that the likely outcome will be ‘points-per-game’ (PPG), so if the Championship can’t resume and the EFL follow through with PPG to decide the season, then the Whites would finish in the top two according to Hay.
It will be intriguing to see how this situation develops over the coming days and weeks.
