Leeds United fans Alan Zan and Chris Goodwin have been cleaning the Bremner Square memorial stones outside Elland Road. Images of the pair on their knees scrubbing the stones were shared on Twitter by photographer George Wood.
The Bremner Square project saw supporters given the opportunity to purchase engraved stones to be laid at the base of the Billy Bremner statue, the steps and surrounding area (as per bremnersquare.com).
The former Scottish midfielder was described as a ‘fiery midfield dynamo’ and ‘one of the game’s greatest ever midfielders’. Here is how some of the Elland Road faithful have responded to the post on Twitter.
Thank you all. Only made time to find my stone a couple of weeks back and was disappointed by the state I found it in.

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses these fans are highly appreciative of their efforts. At the moment, it is unclear when it will be deemed safe for the supporters to return to Elland Road, so it is great to see some supporters ensuring the place is maintained in the meantime.
