Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to two posts on Twitter, which share comments made by Rio Ferdinand regarding his time at the club.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Ferdinand stated that he originally thought that he had made a mistake in joining Leeds from West Ham United, before going on to claim that he didn’t truly understand the rivalry between Leeds and Manchester United until he moved to the Red Devils in 2002.
In reaction to his comments, which were relayed on Twitter through a series of tweets by LeedsLive’s Beren Cross, fans of Leeds have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many claiming that they would not give Ferdinand a minute of their time, while others have claimed that it was impossible not to understand the rivalry between Leeds and Manchester United.
Do you still dislike Ferdinand for moving to Manchester United?
Yes
No
Rio Ferdinand's been on the wireless talking about Leeds United. Doesn't sound like he was feeling all too impressed after his debut loss at Leicester. Were you there? Sounds like they got battered. #lufc https://t.co/YaacnDgXiI

All is forgiven, no bother

Tart! That would suggest we cared what he did after he’d left. When in truth most fans couldn’t have cared less about him.

What do we think?
Following his move from West Ham for a fee of £23.4 million in 2000, Ferdinand went on to make 71 appearances for Leeds, before moving on to Manchester United for a fee of £41.4 million in 2002 (figures as per Transfermarkt).
However, it would appear that Ferdinand’s recent comments have simply brought up bad memories for these Leeds fans, many of whom appear not to have forgiven the defender for his controversial switch.
