Aston Villa would be hypocrites if they blocked relegation and Leeds United’s promotion claims, according to Beren Cross of Leeds Live.
As the Premier League desperately looks for a way to resume the current season, it has recently been reported that a number of clubs would be more open to playing games at neutral venues behind closed doors if the threat of relegation was removed (as per BBC Sport).
Marcelo Bielsa and Dean Smith were at the centre of a heated disagreement in regards to sportsmanship last season when Leeds scored a goal whilst an Aston Villa player was down injured, resulting in the Argentinian coach insisting his players allowed their opponents to score freely to level the score after angry clashes involving the players and the staff (as per Sky Sports).
Although Cross mentions there is nothing on record to confirm that this is Aston Villa’s stance in regards to relegation this season, these Whites fans believe they are one of those clubs suggesting it is taken off of the table.

If you don’t want to go down don’t be second bottom after 28 games

Should the Premier League clubs be allowed to block relegation?

Trying to think why these clubs have so much power to try and block relegation from happening

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses these Leeds United fans have no sympathy for Aston Villa, especially if blocking relegation would see the Whites denied a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.
