A lot of Leeds United fans have responded to a tweet from Beren Cross that includes a piece about Illan Meslier.
Cross claims that there isn’t ‘any way back’ for the 20-year-old at parent club FC Lorient and that the Whites are ‘not expecting too many issues with turning the loan permanent’.
The piece gives journalist Arnaud Huchet’s view of Meslier and what his future at Lorient looks like.
Huchet believes that Meslier will not return to Lorient and that he thinks the 20-year-old wants to continue his journey with Leeds.
Would you be happy to see Meslier join Leeds permanently?
Yes
No
The Whites have an option to buy Meslier at the end of his loan, and if Cross’ post is to be believed, it looks like that will happen.
This has excited these Leeds fans.
Does not sound like there's any way back for Meslier at Lorient, despite his success at Leeds. Not expecting too many issues with turning the loan permanent. Some words from the Lorient end on their local boy done good. #lufc https://t.co/wWItnEMnXp

Hopefully at a good price too if they don’t want him. All upside as far as I can see , young and seems to have a good head on his shoulders

What do we think?
Leeds number-one Kiko Casilla was handed an eight-match ban in February after he was found guilty of using racist language towards Jonathan Leko.
This gave Meslier a chance to get some game time in the league, and he kept two clean sheets before the league was suspended due to the viral outbreak.
However, judging by the replies to this tweet, many Leeds fans would be happy to see him join the club permanently.
