A lot of Leeds United fans have replied to a post from Graham Smyth that includes a piece he has produced.
The piece focuses on that first match at Elland Road when crowds are allowed back to watch football again and how it will signal a return to normality.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reporter dedicates a section to those who will not return to Elland Road because of this current viral outbreak before paying a lovely tribute to Norman Hunter – who sadly passed away last week.
Smyth’s piece then discusses Graham Greenall, a steward at Elland Road, who lost his wife to this virus.
Smyth believes that the first goal and first win back at Elland Road will be full of emotion and joy.
Did this piece move you from Smyth?
Yes
No
This piece from Smyth has gone down very well with a lot of Leeds fans.
Elland Road won't look the same when 36,000 flood back through the gates for the first time.
But love, legacy and Leeds United will live on.https://t.co/ceiShHx73o#lufc

A beautifully written piece. Captured the emotions we will all go through, when we finally get to go ‘home’, perfectly.

Wonderful piece, and exactly right. I can’t imagine being back there anytime soon but this is just how it will feel. Thank you.— ? Steph? (@Leeds_ex_teach) April 23, 2020
What do we think?
This is a lovely piece of writing from Smyth, and we believe that he encapsulates the feeling and emotion very well.
These are strange times, but he is right that the first match back at Elland Road for fans will be a special occasion, and hopefully, it is not too far away.
