A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from Newcastle United StatZone that was then retweeted by the Toon’s official Twitter page.
The tweet was a post about Alan Shearer’s goalscoring record and appearances for Newcastle.
Still, given the current situation, these Toon fans thought it had something to do with the takeover.
The best of what they said can be seen in the replies below.
Do you think Newcastle should stop tweeting until the takeover is announced?
Yes
No

What do we think?
This post about Shearer is good as it shows just how good he was for Newcastle scoring 148 goals in 303 appearances for the Toon in the Premier League.
However, with a takeover of the Toon supposedly imminent, we do understand why these Newcastle fans are annoyed with whoever is running the club’s Twitter account.
A report in the Telegraph suggested that the deal would be done in the coming days, and therefore we understand the excitement around any official activity from the club.
Certainly, judging by these replies, some Newcastle fans were expecting some news about the takeover and not Shearer.
