A lot of Leeds United fans have responded to a tweet from The Scratching Shed after they posted a tweet of a Leeds fan speaking to The Sports Bar on talkSPORT.
Chris the Leeds fan, claimed that he didn’t want the Whites to be promoted behind closed doors (0:03) and that he wanted Elland Road to be full (0:05) if they were to be promoted to the Premier League.
He also claimed that he wouldn’t be happy (0:22) if the Whites were to be granted promotion without finishing the season and even said he would rather another year in the Championship than win promotion behind closed doors. (1:43)
This has not gone down well with these Leeds fans – with some even doubting if “Chris” is a fan of the club.
Do you agree with what this caller said?
Yes
No

Just because someone says they’re a Leeds fan doesn’t mean they are.Whatever it takes as far as the vast majority of Leeds fans I’m sure.

I get the sentiment BUT, its kind of being said in a way that a other season would be a fore gone conclusion and we’d go up. What happens when we finish 10th? Guys not thought it through rationally.

That Leeds fan doesn’t speak for me ?
The pain of sitting there in 2004 against Charlton, our last game in the prem, knowing we were down still haunts me. The fact that it’s been 16 long and painful years means that I’ll take what ever.— Jon Grey Davies #LUFC #FBPE #RejoinEU ?? (@jongreydavies) April 9, 2020
Unbelievable tbh, really a Leeds fan….

He’s definitely not a Leeds fan !
We’ve been waiting too long and I don’t want to see Marcelo miss out on taking our club back up again— vamosleedscarajo (@carajoleeds58) April 9, 2020
Clearly can’t be a true Leeds fan. The season must be finished however they decide to do it!

Fake caller.
I don’t listen to that rubbish.
I want season restarted and if we go up behind closed doors then so be it.— Sorely (@Samtonked76) April 9, 2020
What do we think?
This does seem like an odd thing for a Leeds fan to say considering the Whites have been out of the top-flight since they were relegated in 2004 – so surely, they would take promotion in any form to get back?
However, we do see his point that it wouldn’t be as special in an empty Elland Road as opposed to a full one (1:10), but in the grand scheme of things, does that matter?
We think not.
