Leeds United defender Gaetano Berardi’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season (via Transfermarkt.co.uk) and some of the club’s supporters have been discussing whether or not the 31-year-old should be offered an extension to his current deal.
The question was posed by @LUFCMOTcom on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon and here is a sample of the responses.
Would you like to see Berardi handed a contract extension?

Yeah absolutely he deserves 1 more year. Done nothing but work hard and his discipline has not been an issue this season as of yet

What do we think?
Berardi has made 17 Championship appearances this season although he’s only been in the starting line up 30% of the time. He recently started the fixtures versus Middlesbrough and Huddersfield Town with Ben White being pushed forward into midfield.
The former Swiss international has made 150 appearances for the Whites and based on the responses, it’s clear these fans would love to see him stay another year, hopefully turning out for the team in the Premier League.
The EFL is currently suspended due to the recent viral outbreak and it’s not yet known when the action will reconvene, although perhaps that might give Leeds some time to think about offering the experienced defender a new deal to stay at Elland Road a little longer.
