Leeds United paid the price for a number of missed opportunities at the weekend when they suffered a home defeat at the hands of Wigan Athletic. The Latics, who currently find themselves in the relegation places, benefitted from Pablo Hernandez’s own goal and Marcelo Bielsa’s promotion hopefuls were unable to find an equaliser.
The hosts had 77% of possession and an incredible 19 attempts at goal in comparison to Wigan’s five (as per BBC Sport). In the aftermath of this game, the quality of the club’s strikers has understandably come in to question, following the release of a Patrick Bamford ‘highlights reel’ these fans have taken to social media to mock the forward.
Is Patrick Bamford good enough to lead the line for LUFC?

What do we think?
Bamford may be guilty of missing some guilt-edged chances this season but the criticism towards a player who has scored 12 goals and provided three assists in 29 Championship appearances this season seems a little excessive. The 26-year-old’s return so far is a respectable one and the fact he’s started in 93% of Leeds United’s league games this season tells you a lot about how highly Bielsa rates him.
