A lot of Leeds United fans have responded to Phil Hay’s latest transfer news.
The Athletic reporter is claiming that Leeds are waiting for a response from Southampton for Che Adams.
Do you believe that Leeds will bring in the striker they need?
Yes, they can't afford not to
No, they have failed before and will again
However, Leeds will not wait forever and have set a deadline for this deal with other targets said to be in the background.
The Whites also expect to meet Ian Poveda this week despite late interest from some Italian sides.
This latest transfer update has not gone down well with many Leeds fans on Twitter.
As for transfers at Leeds United, club are waiting for an answer from Southampton on Che Adams. There’s a deadline on this and other strikers are being targeted in the background. Italian interest in Poveda but Leeds still expect to meet with him later this week. @TheAthleticUK

The fact that Southampton don’t seem to have shut down the revised offer immediately has to give some hope surely. If it is rejected we need to move on.

Can’t help but think we are 2 weeks into the window and this is going to be a complete waste of time..hope I’m wrong.

We are so slow at getting transfers sorted out. I’d be embarrassed to be Victor Orta

What do we think?
Leeds waited and waited for Dan James last year only for the deal to collapse at the death.
So, it seems like they have learned their lesson from last year and will only wait so long for Adams.
It is unclear who their other targets are, but the club have been linked with Billy Sharp and Dwight Gayle, amongst others.
Leeds must replace Eddie Nketiah as at the moment they have only one fit striker.
Their promotion rivals West Bromwich Albion have three, and Sheffield Wednesday have four.
It is clear where the Whites must improve, and Adams could be a great signing, but if the deal is proving too difficult to complete, then they must move on to someone else.
