Leeds United fans are left fuming about the Cardiff result after Phil Hay’s latest tweet regarding the poor performance.
Despite being 3-0 up in the 52nd-minute, Leeds United somehow managed to throw away the three-goal lead and finished the match gaining just one point in a 3-3 draw, thanks to Robert Glatzel’s 88th-minute goal to get Cardiff level late in the game. The disappointing collapse has caused strong reactions to this Phil Hay tweet.
Here’s what the Leeds United fans had to say about the result:
From a brilliant first half to a shambolic second, or a shambolic last half hour. Baffling the way they threw that win away. Grip slipped in midfield, defence became vulnerable and that’s two points lost.

Yes it’s awful to throw away a 3 nil lead, but let’s not be overly critical on the team. We don’t need to knock them down and throw it away like last year. Let’s build them up and start another incredible run. #mot #ALAW

Ridiculous to throw the win away. Biesla got it wrong taking Beradi and Bamford off imo.

It’s what happens when you take Paddy off. He’s the first line of defence. If he’d stayed on, we’d have won.

At 3 nil up that should’ve been game over. Really not good enough that.

No quality in replacements, need better backup

Could this result cause Leeds United to drop more points?
Yes
No
Patrick Bamford scored twice before being substituted off in the 77th minute for Eddie Nketiah, however, the 20-year-old failed to impress, only managing to achieve a Whoscored rating of 5.9/10.
Will we ever learn? Hope this game is a wake up call for the lads.

Disgraceful

Shocking. It’s disgraceful to throw away a three goal lead.

What Do We Think?
Because of the dropped points, West Brom are now back at the top of the Championship table, with Leeds two points behind. Of course, it would have been disappointing to see the side collapse in the spectacular fashion – especially as they were 3-0 up and looked as though they would cruise to the three points. However, Marcelo Bielsa’s side are still second place, so if the season was to end today they would be on their way to the Premier League and we are sure that all Leeds fans would be over the moon with that.
