Rangers fans will be pleased with their result against Motherwell on the weekend. The 2-0 scoreline returned the team to winning ways after going three games without a victory (BBC). A red card for Alfredo Morelos will dampen the mood, but Steven Gerrard’s side will just be happy to take three points away from the match.
Nikola Katic opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a header, much to the delight of supporters. But while it highlighted his ability in the air, it got fans questioning Conor Goldson’s heading accuracy. They don’t believe he has any control over where the ball is going after it deflects off his head.
100% agree. Goldson has a skull like a 50p. Ball flies off at every angle bar straight at goal same with Helander. #katicforpresident

Goldson very rarely hits the target. Gets in great position s but he’s got a head like a 50p

Goldson is a calamity

Goldson and tav are to heedless chickens man watched them in that game goldson is a terrible defender when he’s up the park he can’t handle long balls and tav has far too many mistakes in every single game I would defo replace them with to decent footballers I hate the fear

Who is the better header of a ball?
Goldson
Helander
One fan was concerned that Goldson’s heading could cost the team in the second half, while another suggests that he is a liability at both ends of the park when the ball is in the air.
Goldson is gonna lose us a goal! He doesn’t like 2nd halfs, sure of it

Goldson has got to be one the worst at heading the ball in both areas

What do we think?
Goldson, who is valued at £2.93 million (as per Transfermarkt), clearly has the ability to get his head on the ball. If he could learn to control the destination of his headers, he would become a real threat at both ends of the park. But, for now, fans are more confident that the centre-back could score with his feet than with his head.
