A lot of Leeds United fans have reacted to Phil Hay’s latest update on Eddie Nketiah’s situation at Leeds.
The Athletic reporter has claimed that talks are ongoing between Arsenal and the Whites as the two clubs try and reach a solution that will see Nketiah remain at Elland Road.
What should Arsenal do with Nketiah?
Recall him
Leave him at Elland Road
This news has received a lot of attention from many Leeds fans.
Some really want Nketiah to stay.
Have spoken to a few more people about Nketiah. Talks between Leeds and Arsenal about him staying next month very much ongoing. Not a case of Nketiah being unhappy at Leeds – just wants to be playing more (and Arsenal want him to be playing more too). #lufc

No two ways about it for me, he simply has to play. Makes things happen, causes defenders to panic, makes superb runs & most important of all, scores goals. Scored winners in big games & vital equaliser at the death v Preston at their place. Massive loss if he goes #lufc #AFC

I really hope he stays – he definitely offers us something different up front and more than capable of bagging a few more goals.

Let’s get him playing more so. He made a big difference last night. I don’t think Bamford should be ‘dropped’ but players need a rest every so often to freshen things up. Eddie’s input will be massive in the second half of the season.

Fair enough. He’s got to stay tho and start.

It’d be ashamed for Leeds to lose such a huge talent like Nketiah due to rigidness, and lack of player rotations.
How can any highly talented players want to join us in January? Would we be happy with spending money on journeymen who agree to shift from one bench to another?— LUFC Shah Alam (@AlamLufc) December 27, 2019
Other Whites supporters have praised the Arsenal man’s attitude.
Can’t fault him tbf or his attitude, doesn’t moan about lack of game time or whatever and when he does play he does his best. Just can’t see Bielsa changing the team so he gets more game time, unless Bamford gets injured.

His attitude has been top class tbf, never moans and try’s his hardest when he comes on

Can’t blame the lad to be honest, I thought he played well last night and looked hungry.

What do we think?
Nketiah, who is valued at £7.2m by Transfermarkt, would obviously like to be starting matches, and many Leeds fans also want the same thing, but Marcelo Bielsa sees him as an impact substitute.
Nketiah has made 16 appearances for the Whites this season but only two have been starts.
The Gunners must decide if Leeds using Nketiah as a substitute is enough game time for the 20-year-old.
Leeds will certainly hope it is as Nketiah has played an important role in their season so far.
If Arsenal do recall him, then Bristol City are waiting in the wings to snap him up.
