LUFCDATA‘s latest tweet comparing Blackburn Rovers’ Bradley Dack to Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips sparked a mass appreciation for their young Englishman.
Phillips had an outstanding game against the Ewood Park outfit and came away from the encounter with only two stats worse than Dack, which were shots and dribbles. Phillips had the fifth-most touches in the match with 70, fellow Leeds man Liam Cooper led the way with 87 touches.
Dack didn’t manage to make any key passes or even have a shot on target, the 25-year-old could only complete 11 passes all game, leaving him with an awful pass success percentage of 58% – as per WhoScored.
Kalvin Phillips won his personal battle against Bradley Dack yesterday. The Yorkshire Pirlo won 12 of his 16 duels against Blackburn’s leading scorer this season. TWELVE. Dack also failed to create a chance or register a shot on-target against Leeds. [Source: @InStatFootball]. pic.twitter.com/60exrkpgNw

Kalvin is the best English player in that position.

Declan Rice’s England career is over once Kalvin Phillips hits the premier league

@griffskin never less than 3 meters away from him

Phillips achieved a WhoScored rating of 7.3/10, which is much better than Dack’s 6.1/10. This goes to show just how much of an effect Phillips had on the match, despite not scoring or assisting.

What Do We Think?
Phillips has been brilliant all season, with an average Whoscored rating of 7.41, one goal and one assist across 16 Championship games so far. The 23-year-old has also won three man of the match awards.
Phillips’ last goal came against Birmingham on 18th October, which Jack Harrison picked up the assist for. Fans will be hoping the 23-year-old continues this fine form as they push for promotion this season.
