The injury update posted on Twitter by Phil Hay announced that Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has an ankle problem, which left fans hoping for Eddie Nketiah to get his chance to shine.
The tweet also had news on Pablo Hernandez, Ezgjan Alioski and Barry Douglas.
However, most of the fans attention was focused on Patrick Bamford’s injury, which fans actually found quite exciting. This may be because 20-year-old Eddie Nketiah could finally get a spot in the starting lineup, as the striker has failed to make the starting XI in his last 10 games.
Despite the lack of starts, Nketiah has managed to score three goals in the Championship this season, which is only one less than Marcelo Bielsa’s seemingly preferred man.
Injury latest from Bielsa – Pablo Hernandez is available but Patrick Bamford has an ankle problem. Alioski (side) and Douglas (knee) are doubts as well. Forshaw is still out. #lufc

Bamford has already played 1034 minutes in the Championship so far, whereas the Arsenal loanee has played just 265, as per WhoScored.

What Do We Think?
When looking at stats, it’s hard to see why Nketiah would be left out, with the 20-year-old scoring more goals than Bamford when taking the League Cup into consideration.
Maybe if Arsenal loanee’s move was made permanent, Bielsa would be more likely to play the young striker, because the fact the Englishman hasn’t even started one league game is pretty outrageous.
