Neil Lennon can see his popularity soar among Celtic fans by simply unshackling attacker Timothy Weah so supporters can see what the teen sensation is truly capable of.

The 19-year-old forward arrived on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in January and has only been used sparingly since arriving at the club.

Weah has featured 12 times for the Hoops but a lot of his outings have only been cameo appearances and clearly supporters will be eager to see more.

In fact many Celtic fans on social media were urging Lennon to use Weah more on Wednesday after he made Goal’s top 20 list of best teenagers in world football.

This is not surprising as Weah has shown in his few outings for the club that he is an exciting player capable of getting fans off their feet.

The 19-year-old looks able to tear defences apart due to his blistering pace and silky skills, yet despite Celtic not looking particularly strong upfront in recent games, he has not been unleashed for many minutes lately.

Given that the Hoops could do with a player like Weah injecting fresh life into their attack after the international break then it seems a wise decision by Lennon to use him.

If Lennon opts to completely unshackle the player and start him in a game; then who knows, Weah may be able to blow him and everyone away as clearly the forward will be chomping at the bit to impress.

While Celtic fans can’t hand Lennon the job on a permanent basis if the manager makes a crowd-pleasing decision like using Weah properly and it’s pays off, then his chance of becoming permanent hoops manger increase as the board will take notice of how supporters feel about him.
