COMMENTARY
Many Celtic fans all sung from the same hymn sheet on Wednesday as they urged for Neil Lennon to unleash attacker Timothy Weah more. The Bhoys official Twitter account congratulated the 19-year-old forward for being listed in Goal’s 20 best teenagers in the world and the tweet kinda backfired for them. Instead of several joining the club in saying well done to Weah, it just caused loads of Hoops fans to demand that the attacker play more. Weah joined Celtic on loan from Paris St Germain in January and has scored three goals in 12 outings for the club. Yet that number of games is deceiving as Weah is often deployed from the bench and not handed many minutes. For example across the Hoops’ last three league games, Weah has only played a grand total of 33 minutes. Given that Lennon’s side haven’t been knocking it out of the park, especially in regards to their attacking threat, the Hoops below are right to be baffled over why Weah isn’t called upon more. The teenager looks like he’d be able to tear defences apart with his skill and pace, so clearly he should be playing more.
