Andrea Radrizzani has promised Leeds United’s players an end-of-season trip to Las Vegas if they secure promotion to the Premier League, according to Phil Hay.

Writing in a column for the Yorkshire Evening Post, the correspondent claim the United chairman “dangled the carrot” of a celebratory squad holiday to the United States as reward if they ended the club’s decade-and-a-half in the Football League.

Hay explained the players are forever reminding Radrizzani of the potential Vegas trip and “he can rest assured a deal is a deal”.

OPINION

After stinking out the second half of last season, the ‘reward’ for Leeds’ players was a post-season trip to Myanmar that was ill-conceived and poorly received outside of the club. It’s fair to say the United squad will be looking considerably more to the prospect of letting their hair down in lads’ paradise Vegas. Should the players be gambling their chips by start converting their pounds to American dollars with two months of the season remaining? Not quite. Leeds returned to the Championship summit with a third consecutive win on Tuesday night that was nowhere near as emphatic as it could have been given the quality of another sparkling display, but there is still plenty of work to do. Sheffield United and Norwich City are also churning out wins and looking well placed to secure the top-two finish that increasingly looks to be between the three pace setters. Only when it is mathematically should the Leeds squad start packing their bags.
