Andrea Radrizzani probably felt his three-word ‘well done lads’ tweet, accompanied by a few clapping emojis, in response to Leeds United Under-23s’ Premier League Cup triumph on Thursday night was as uncontroversial as it gets. But the United chairman has been on the receiving end of fuming responses from supporters frustrated and angry that the in-house live stream of the match on the club app crashed shortly before the penalty shoot-out. Denied the chance to see Izzy Brown, Gaetano Berardi, Jack Clarke and company bang in their spot-kicks to defeat Fulham and secure a place in the next round of the competition, Whites made it clear to Radrizzani they wanted the club’s media coverage dramatically improved, or for the age-group matches to be streamed on a more reliable platform like Facebook or YouTube. Some of the comments, including ‘So gutted’ and ‘Absolutely shocking’ made clear to the Italian owner their unhappiness.
